Client: New Fresh- Sydney Markets, New Door System

Project: Customisation - Fruit Transfer and Storage

Project Type: ‘Another great door system transformation, this time with a different approach’.

Brief: We were asked to provide a custom all in one door solution for a Sydney Produce Markets project wanting to replace multi panel doors with a modern rapid door system for a wholesaler storing and transferring fresh produce in a busy environment.

Evaluation: After discussing the requirements and seeing the need for speed, easy access and reliability, it was decided the best option was to replace the existing inefficient sliding panel doors with one large custom made AUTO MOSSA high speed rapid door measuring approximately 5.0m w x 5.0m h. It was also noted that the door is positioned between a +2deg Coolroom and external surroundings exposed to Sydney ambient temperatures (which can exceed +40deg C) therefore a high level of insulation was important. To meet this requirement the HYPERFREEZE platform with a 30mm thick Insulated curtain was chosen which incorporates a special combination of foam and air-filled insulation.

Results: The new AUTO MOSSA system provides complete open access for quick, easy and efficient product loading and unloading. The door is automatic with half and full height opening option. The extra-large open area also means the side frames are out of the way of potential crashes and subsequent damage. The special 30mm thick curtain with addition of insulation along all welded seams provides very good thermal resistance between the chillers and the ambient area, plus heat trace fitted to tracks further reduces the risk of condensation. Importantly AUTO MOSSA’s flexible, robust industrial design combining high reliability with its fully automatic curtain crash-out system (which auto relocates in the event it is hit by a forklift and knocked out) all means costly repairs and down become almost non-existent.

Client: Sydney Customer- Fruit Supplier

Project: Customisation - Heavy Usage Chiller Doors for Fruit Storage

Brief: We were asked to provide a customised door solution for a customer storing fruit in a high activity application. The AUTO MOSSA solution was to replace an existing sliding panel door system that was becoming problematic with years of impact damage and wear and tear.

It was important that the replacement doors could handle the temperature variations between the chiller and ambient summertime temperatures.

Our solution was to use our HYPERFREEZE door curtain and design a compact track system that would fit with the tight confinements of a providore racking application.

The door tracks are fitted with heater cables to prevent condensation in this area.

If the doors are impacted by a forklift and dislodge from the tracks, they can easily be reinserted via the controls on the door

 Results: The new door system with its efficient insulation provides good thermal resistance when installed between chiller and ambient environments. The system provides much easier access and movement of product with its wide span openings.

The doors are automatic with half height and full height openings. The doors flexible and robust design will mean costly repairs are almost non-existent.

Client: Monde Nissin

Project: New Logistics and Cold Storage centre

Brief: We were asked to provide a door solution for a -26 C Freezer storing ice cream. It was important the door could handle the temperature variations between the Freezer and Annex room without the use of a night door. Our solution was our flagship HYPERFREEZE cold storage door. with up to 40mm thick insulation and the added defrost interlock feature, this door was the perfect fit.

Often in some of the more demanding freezers the defrost cycles can cause extra pressures within the rooms that standard venting ports struggle to handle. The HYPERFREEZE door interlocks with the refrigeration system and after defrost start up the door opens to a height of 1000mm for 20 seconds to allow depressurisation of the room. It proves an effective solution in some of the demanding applications.

Results: The HYPERFREEZE with its superior insulation easily handles the temperature demands The defrost interlock assisted greatly with freezer room pressure release.

Client: Mainfreight Australia

Project: Mainfreight Extension Epping Victoria

Brief: We were given the opportunity this year to supply high performance doors in a high wind area. The doors 6.0h x 6.0mw needed to operate in the demanding high cycle environment of a busy logistics facility while also needing to handle wind speeds of around 120 kph. The doors were specially engineered to be strong enough to handle the wind loads but agile enough to handle hundreds of movements a day, the solution – Carbon Fibre wind bars over the conventional steel design.

Results: A large door light enough to offer high cycle capability with the strength to withstand high 120kph winds.
